TIMESSINGAPORE, SURABAYA – The Literature Faculty of Unitomo cooperated with the Youth and Sport Department (Dispora) of East Java taught 18 Australian exchange foreign students about the philosophy of Batik.

They taught them on how to make an ideal pleat on a batik as a skirt. "Pleat teaches us to be more patient in doing things, which is typically more difficult than it saw," Rindrah Kartiningsih, the event manager said on Monday (20/1/2020).

In addition they also took them to play some Javanese scrabble which asses their dedication and loyalty to their task.

"Its a cross cultural understanding, which increase their sense of tolerance toward others," Haris Ramadhan, The Head of Dispora of East Java said.

The 18 Australian foreign exchange students was hope to be able to understand more about Javanese culture through Batik and spread the whole kind philosophy through it. (*)
